All the Bodhisattvas

All the bodhisattvas are waiting in the wood
resting neath the ferns and pines just like Buddha would
they sit so softly sighing compassion for our pain
while all the bodhisattvas wait to be the Buddha again
Patiently they’re waiting while birds nest in their hair
the creatures of the forest don’t even seem to care
it’s a day like any other in the future or the past
but the moment that matters is the one that’s here at last
All the bodhisattvas, all the bodhisattvas!
I’ve been around this country and i’ve observed my mind
I’ve searched the ancient wisdoms hoping just to find
an end to endless suffering but now i finally know
I will join the bodhisattvas when it’s time for me to go
All the bodhisattvas are smiling at us now
beneath the trees on bended knees they sit so still somehow
we close our eyes to imagine their single shining heart
as our souls slowly open and a new life we do start
All the bodhisattvas, all the bodhisattvas!
